Margaret Powell Akins, Lawrence, KS, is a retired secondary mathematics teacher . She taught for 44 years, first in Shreveport at St. Vincent's Academy, and then in secondary schools in Lawrence, Kansas. Her husband is also retired and they are having a ball!
Sandra Whitlock Mauney, Eads, TN, retired with her husband, Richard in 1992 in Paris, TN and took a tour of the Southwest U.S. one year and a tour of the Northwest U.S. the next year in our Dodge Ram Van. In 1993, she went to Israel for a tour. They moved to Eads, TN, a suburb of Memphis, to be near their daughter, Kim.

Allen Ford, Lawrence, KS, received the 2007 Outstanding Service Award for the Midwest Region of the Maerican Accounting Association. The award was presented at the Midwest Regions annual meeting in St. Louis on April 14th.
1970
Roger Boynton, Abbeville, LA, is the President of Deep South Financial Services, Inc. and has been involved for the past 25 years. The company has offices throughout south Louisiana under three different names, Deep South, Southland Finance Co., and Pelican Credit. He is very involved in his Church and has served as Sr. Warden of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in beautiful downtown Abbeville for many of the past 20 years. He has three children, Ashley, Britt, and Hunter, who are all in college. Ashley at La Tech for a Phd in Audiology, Britt at Southeastern, and Hunter at LSU. He is married to Alice Sagrera. They travel a lot and recently went to play golf at St. Andrews and in Ireland. They have a new grandchild, Sophia, five months old.

Terri Springer Oliver, Durango, CO, works part-time at Maria's Bookshop, a wonderful independent book store, in Durango, Colorado. She and husband, Don '71, have recently closed their fishing guide business in Durango and their online fly shop.

Shirley Miller Watts, River Ridge, LA, is in her 33rd year of teaching! She is now teaching 6th grade at Leo Kerner in Jean Lafitte, LA. She is also a papercrafter and has had 2 of her handmade greeting cards published in magazines. She has been married to Roy Watts for 23 years.
1975
Cynthia Lewis, Cincinnati, OH, bought a new car, quit her job, and went to graduate school after 5 years at The Shreveport Times, and 14 years in performing arts management in Texas. She received an MBA in marketing and a Master of Science in applied statistics. Since 1999, she has served the Johnson & Johnson family of companies by conducting market research that supports new product development. All of the devices she has worked on support general surgery. As part of her job, she travels around the world, understanding the needs of physicians in the United States, Europe, China, India, Brazil and Japan (so far).
Suzanne Mason, Santa Fe, NM, is a co-owner of Mason-Jones Health Group, a start-up practice in Family Medicine. She also trains and shows Bouvier des Flanders (Belgian Herding) dogs as a serious hobby. She says, "As a spectator, attending this year's Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City was especially fun considering the Beagle breed (this one named "Uno"), had never before won the distinguished event."

John Howard, Clarendon, TX, has a private practice in Clarendon, Texas, is Board Certified in Preventive Medicine, a County Health Officer, President of Greenbelt Medical Society, on the Clarendon College Board of Regents, a Captain in the US Navy Reserve (Flight Surgeon), and a Commanding Officer presently serving with US Marines in Iraq.
Katie Avery Leinweber, Scottsdale, AZ, went to law school at LSU after a few years in the advertising industry, and practiced in both Louisiana and Arizona, specializing in domestic relations and estate planning. After ten years, she put her legal career on hold to become a semi-professional volunteer in the public schools. She somehow never went back into law, probably because “educators are a lot nicer to spend time with than most lawyers!” As her kids have gotten older (Scott is a freshman in the College of Architecture and Environment Design, Cal Poly/San Luis Obispo and Lauren is a sophmore at Pinnacle High School), her time has been more focused on supporting Teach for America (Mark is on the Board of Directors of the Phoenix group), Pinnacle Presbyterian Church and establishing a studio in which to utilize her art degree from Centenary (“what a concept!”) Mixed media is her current thing, but she's promised herself to get back to painting in the new year.

Danny Gamble, New Orleans, LA, has been the Organist/Pianist at Gretna United Methodist Church in Gretna, Louisiana since 1994. He helped guide the church in a pipe organ project and is a board member of the New Orleans chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He joined the Library Department of The Times-Picayune in 1991 as a news researcher, and has also been the Assistant Head Librarian since 2001, responsible for the newspaper's electronic archiving and retrieval system.

Debbie Carter Mulvenna, Dallas, TX, has recently been named Assistant Director of Development for the Athletic programs at SMU, where her daughter, Ryan, is a sophomore. Working with membership and events for the Mustang Club, she is finally being paid to plan parties and attend sporting events! She's very involved in the arts community there, and with her husband, Carlo, is involved in the great Wildflower Arts and Music Festival in Richardson every May. She is also active in the music program at her church, where she occasionally works on other projects.
Merrill Wautlet, Shreveport, LA, is a Senior Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer with First National Bankers Bank. FNBB is headquartered in Baton Rouge but he is working from their Shreveport office. He is a correspondent banker and travels across central and north Louisiana assisting community banks with credit needs that exceed their legal lending limits.

John Robinson, Huntsville, AL, has worked in the defense industry since he left Centenary College 21 1/2 years ago. He received his commission as a 2LT and began his second tour of duty in the US Army. After retiring in 1997 from Ft. Lewis, WA, he returned to Huntsville, AL. He worked for a local defense contractor for five years until he obtained a job with the federal government. He currently works for the US Army as a Program Manager and Military Analyst for Missile Defense Systems at Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Julia Martin-Jones, Charlottesville, VA, is the managing partner of her own real estate holding company, North Forty Properties, LLC, and also serves as one of three managing partners and Treasurer for a family owned company, NKM Properties, LLC. She has been working/volunteering for the domestic violence shelter in central Virginia for the last 9 years, and has enjoyed planning and helping to build a LEED certified (sustainable, "green") facility for their residential clients. She and her family (including three boys ages 13, 11 & 6) spend most of every summer on Smith Mountain Lake in southern VA.

Christy Wood Bauder, Pensacola, FL, and her husband, Christopher, live in Pensacola, Florida with thier two girls, Allison and Ellie. Christine worked in the cost accounting field for 12 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. They stay busy with soccer, basketball, drama, Girl Scouts and church activities. She teaches Sunday School in the elementary department, plays handbells, scrapbooks, and ferries children around town to various activities.

Angie White, Shreveport, LA, has been an independent business consultant since February 07, primarily for the Robinson Film Center in Shreveport, but also a handful of other businesses and non-profits for whom she has written grant applications (and secured over $130,000), business plans, strategic operating plans, state tax credit applications, and her newest project is helping the Shreveport Symphony revamp its website. The first week in December, she accepted a job as Vice President, Workforce Development for the Northwest Louisiana Economic Development Foundation, the non-profit regional economic development arm of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. She will start the job in January and will be spearheading a pilot workforce initiative to address the inability of critical industries in the area that are having trouble finding employees with specific skill sets.

He handles major gift solicitation, planning for several capital campaigns with groups within his diocesan family, and working on centralizing the ancillary fundraising operations that function under our umbrella.

Barbara Morris, Stigler, OK, has five grandchildren: Caleb (5) and Ana (2) live with their parents, Anthony and Lori, in Forney, Texas. Ana was recently adopted from Russia. Joshua (6) and his twin brothers, Matthew and Christoper (4), live in Waco, Texas, with their parents, Joe and Anne. Barbara and her husband, Johnny, own 2 rock quarries in Eastern Oklahoma. The primary products are sandstone used in construction and moss rock used for landscaping.

Beth Tener, West Palm Beach, FL, graduated from law school at the University of Miami in 2003 and has stayed in South Florida ever since. She spent three years with the the State Attorney's Office as a prosecutor, and then left in 2006 to practice family law in a West Palm Beach law firm. She and her fiancé, Ben, were engaged in August 2007 and their wedding is set for June 7, 2008.

Dana Beyert, New York, NY, began working for Gen Art, a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing new talent in the film, fashion, visual art, and music industry, this past July. She represents various sponsors for the events they produce (fashion shows, film screenings and festivals, music concerts and gallery shows). Her job will even take her to the Sundance Film Festival this January. She lives on the Upper West Side only a few blocks from her sister, Lindsay Beyert, class of 2006.

Anna Ludke Coussons '91, Greenleaf, WI, and her husband, Herb, welcomed their fifth child, Elianna Sarah, on September 1, 2007. Herb is an OB-GYN in private practice in Green Bay, WI. Anna is a stay home mom to Alaric 14, Madeline 12, Jack 9, Josiah, 15 months and baby Elianna.
Catherine Cabaniss Sharpe '00, Memphis, TN, and husband, Robert, gave birth to a daughter, Mary Catherine Cabaniss Sharpe, on born October 22, 2007. She weighed 7 pound, 1 ounce and was 21 inches long. Grandparents are Gayle McConnell Cabaniss '76 and Fred Cabaniss '74.

Cris Bregman MBA '06, Shreveport, LA, gave birth to a baby boy, Beau Lamar Bregman, on December 7th 2007 at 8:39 AM. He weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. Her twins will be 3 on December 17th.
