The Centenary Community mourns Monday morning at word of the tragic loss of two of its alumni on Sunday morning, June 22, 2008. Geoff '89 and Christy '89 McDonald Hart, along with their daughter, Rebekah (age 12), and two foster children (ages 6 and 4) were killed in a traffic accident on their way home from church when an SUV ran a red light at a high rate of speed and hit their minivan.
Both Geoff and Christy graduated from Centenary in 1989 with a B.S. in Mathematics. They were both involved in the Church Careers Program. Geoff was a Theta Chi and a member of the Cross Country team. Geoff was employed as a software engineer and Christy served as the Director of Computer Resources at Custer Road United Methodist Church where they have been members since 1991.
For more information on the accident, visit Dallas-Fort Worth Channel 8 News. Please keep family and friends of the Harts in your thoughts and prayers.
